DO I NEED TO COME TO PRESQUE ISLE FOR AN ON-CAMPUS VISIT PRIOR TO BEING ADMITTED?

No. However, we welcome students to visit to our campus and schedule an interview with the Admissions Director if at all possible. An interview by SKYPE is required.

HOW LARGE ARE THE CLASSES?

The average class size at Presque Isle High School is 17 students.

WITH WHOM WILL I BE LIVING?

All international students are placed with Host Families. Host Parents typically are highly educated, and understand the value of good study habits. There may also be an opportunity for you to have an international roommate with you in the Host Family home.

HOW MUCH HOMEWORK WILL I GET AT PRESQUE ISLE HIGH SCHOOL?

Presque Isle High School students typically have about 20 hours of work per week outside of class. As a general rule, expect 45 minutes of homework per night for each class.

HOW MANY ACADEMIC CLASSES DO STUDENTS TAKE?

Students must take a minimum of five (5) academic courses per semester. Presque Isle High School has two semesters, a fall semester that lasts from August to January and a spring semester that lasts from January to June.

HOW MANY AP OR HONORS COURSES ARE OFFERED?

Presque Isle High School offers seven(22) AP courses and seven (7) Honors courses. Guidance counselors and faculty members review all course sign-ups in order to make sure students are placed appropriately.

Presque Isle High School has an outstanding network of support for students who are struggling academically. Academic Support Periods are scheduled daily.   Faculty members are also available before and after the school day for extra help.

WHAT KIND OF UNIVERSITY CAN I GET INTO AS A PRESQUE ISLE HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATE?

Presque Isle High School has alumni attending the best colleges and universities in America.
